Partnership for women’s empowerment and sustainable communities

At Bombayworks, we believe in using our skills and resources to create lasting impact beyond business. That’s why we are proud to continue our long-term partnership with Hand in Hand, now through the new project Empower Her! (2024–2027).

About the project

Based in Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu, Empower Her! builds on previous successful village programmes and takes them to the next level. It is a large-scale initiative that aims to strengthen women’s economic and social position – at home, in the workplace and in society – while engaging men, young people and entire communities.

Why this matters

Gender inequality remains a barrier for millions of women in rural India. By equipping women with the skills, resources and confidence to succeed as entrepreneurs, Empower Her! is not only transforming families but also strengthening entire communities.

Who it reaches

  • 20,000 women trained in entrepreneurship and family business.

  • 7,500 men engaged as role models and advocates for equality.

  • 2,000 young people, gaining digital and computer skills to support their mothers and improve their own job prospects.

  • Indirectly, the project will benefit more than 60,000 people across rural communities.

Strong results – already

Although Empower Her! is still in its early stages, it has already shown strong outcomes: women gaining entrepreneurial skills, businesses being strengthened through microloans, and networks actively working with human rights and equality. These achievements build on the legacy of Rise Up Women and demonstrate the impact of long-term commitment.

Our role

As partners, we contribute to raising awareness, sharing knowledge and supporting the project’s mission of long-term empowerment. We are humbled to play a part in this journey – but the true credit belongs to the women, families and communities driving the change every day.
