Someone who knows exactly what that takes is Sofia Akrami, our new Head of Strategy. After several years at Bombayworks, a period as an agency owner, and experience from a large international company, she’s now back – ready to shape the digital strategies of the future for our clients.

What attracted you to the role of Head of Strategy?

The role combines everything I enjoy most: strategy, business development, design, and technology. I thrive in a fast-paced environment with a lot of responsibility and variety – and leading the strategic work in a team that’s passionate about creating value for our clients feels fantastic.

How will clients notice that you’ve stepped into this role?

I believe they’ll notice that we’re becoming even more strategic and proactive. In a time when the market feels uncertain, it’s more important than ever to have a clear why behind every decision. My goal is to make sure we don’t just deliver solutions – but that every delivery is tied to our clients’ business goals and long-term plans. As a digital agency, we combine brand strategy, design, and technology in a way that ensures everything we do supports both business objectives and user experience – for both B2B and B2C companies.

Trends and the future of digital marketing strategy

What changes are you seeing in the industry right now?

We’re seeing that many agencies are facing challenges as clients tighten their budgets. This raises the bar for being agile, flexible, and truly value-driven. To me, it’s proof of how important it is to build businesses and partnerships that are genuinely sustainable and commercially focused.

Sofia also sees how AI is transforming how the industry works. “AI has enormous potential to make strategy work more efficient,” says Sofia. “For some, it means faster translations and reporting; for others, the technology can become part of the core business. Our role is to help clients understand where AI actually creates value.”

What are the most common mistakes companies make in their strategic work?

Many get stuck in big presentations filled with beautiful, descriptive words – but forget to translate the strategy into tangible, actionable steps. A good digital marketing strategy shouldn’t just inspire – it should be a practical tool that drives measurable results.

The drive behind strategic work

Understanding the client’s vision, identifying challenges, and creating structure are what motivate Sofia the most. “I love being involved from the start – seeing the plan take shape and deliver real impact,” she says.

Her experience as a football referee has also shaped the way she works.“It taught me to make quick decisions, keep a cool head, and communicate clearly even when the pace is high,” Sofia explains. “That’s something I’ve really benefited from as a strategist.”
